Bonjour families! We discovered some real gems when online resources became essential. Below are some of our favourites. If you happen to find something great and want to share it with other families please email cruston@sd73.bc.ca and it will be added to the blog. Merci  🙂

French Read-Aloud Books

  • Lecture Enfant –   login username: llgg1  password: lire2

    • Home reading support for French immersion students. There are lists of sounds and sight words too!

  • Boukili – Free, French, read-aloud books. Website and app.

  • Epic! – Book for Kids

    • Lots of read-aloud options in English (like Netflix for picture books). Some French available. 30 days free.

  • Bookaboo – Québécois celebrities reading picture books aloud.

  • Un Autre Blogue de Maman – YouTube channel, lots of great children books read aloud.

  • Kristen Sampson – YouTube channel belonging to a teacher. Levelled readers that we have in class being read aloud – finger pointing and all!

Maths

  • Prodigy – Free, curriculum-aligned, adaptive, online game-based learning platform for 1st to 8th grade.

    • Parents create an account for their child. Write down your child’s username and password. When promted for CLASS CODE: FD3EAC

  • SplashLearn –  Fun, easy, students earn points. Code:FIIAVG  password: math

      1. Click on the link.

      2. Once on the welcome page, click on sign in.

      3. You will now have the question, “Where are you playing SplachLearn?”. Choose “Class”.

      4. Enter our class code: FIIAVG.

      5. Find your avatar, use the password “math” and voila. You are ready to play.

  • Math Playground –  Free online games, organized by grade and skills

  • K-5 Math Teaching Resources –  Activities to download and try at home

Cross-Curricular

  • ABC Mouse – 30 day Free trial. Helps kids learn to read through phonics, and teaches lessons in math, social studies, art, music, and much more.

  • FLORA – New program from New Brunswick. It is very easy to use and the pictures are very cute. The program includes a variety of entertaining and educational songs, books and activities. One more easy way to bring French into your home. Level 1 is for beginning learners, and the levels progress from there.

  • Idéllo – A variety of certified resources in French, relevant and categorized according to subject matter and school grade

  • Télé-Quebec Coucou – Videos, games, puzzles all in French for young children
