The Ministry of Education sets the education standards for students in grades K to 12 through the provincial curriculum. Here’s a link to the ministry website that outlines the current BC curriculum.

Each week the classroom blog will be updated letting families know what is going on in the classroom.

Something new in the redesigned curriculum are the Core Competencies. They are: communication, creative thinking, critical thinking, positive personal and cultural identity, personal awareness and responsibility, and social responsibility.  Obviously there are no grades attached to competencies, however, students do engage in regular self assessments to aide them in their personal growth and development.
